In the first instance please ask your IT team to follow these instructions HERE
Please go here with your admin account and ensure Allow users to create app passwords to sign in to non-browser apps is selected
You will have to wait for up to one hour for the settings to be activated properly
Once done, please ensure you are set up for Multi-factor Authentication
Click on Users, then Active Users
Select Multi-factor Authentication
You need to get all accounts which have an eBoss account to be enforced under Multi-Factor Authentication
If not enforced, please follow these steps:
Select the users, and complete this process one at a time: click the Enable option under Quick Steps
Click enable multi-factor auth
You should see now that Multi-factor status says Enabled, now click on the user again and under quick steps click Enforce it
In the pop up, enforce multi-factor auth
Go back to this page: https://admin.microsoft.com/adminportal/home#/users
One at a time, click on each display name and click on Mail
Now click on Manage email apps
On this page we are only concerned with ensuring Authenticated SMTP is selected
Each consultant will have to generate their own App Password
Now, go to this page: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/?ref=MeControl and click on security info
On the security info page, select +Add sign in method and choose App Password
Give your App Password a name, we suggest eBosscrm, but you can choose whatever you want
Once you have clicked next, you will be taken to this popup where Microsoft has generated your App password.
You need to enter this password along with the following SMTP details on your profile page
SMTP Host: smtp.office365.com
SMTP Port: 587
SMTP Username: your email address
SMTP Password: the app password you generated in Microsoft.
Don't forget to scroll to the bottom of the page to click SAVE
Now you have to update your DNS with DKIM & SPF
