Semantic Search – Getting Started

Semantic Search helps you find better candidates faster by understanding roles, skills, experience, and related terminology — not just exact keywords. This means less guesswork and stronger shortlists.

Start your search

You can begin a Semantic Search in two ways:
Use the search bar at the top of the screen, or use the filters on the left-hand side.
Results update instantly as you add or remove criteria.

Understand job titles

As you type, eBoss+ suggests different job title types based on how recent the role is on the candidate’s CV.

Current position
The candidate’s most recent role.

Job title
Any role held within the last four years.

Function title
Any role the candidate has ever held.

If a role or skill does not appear in the main search bar, try adding it via the filters on the left.

Searching for phrases

If your search includes more than one word, use quotation marks to keep the phrase together.

Example:
"acquisitions manager"

This ensures the phrase is treated as a single role.
