Once you’ve started a search, refining it properly makes a huge difference to the quality of candidates you see. Semantic Search gives you control without forcing you to over-filter.

Using synonyms

When you search for a role or skill, eBoss+ automatically adds related synonyms to widen the search and catch variations in wording.

To manage these, click the + icon next to the search term.
Review the suggested synonyms and untick anything you don’t want included.

This helps prevent missing strong candidates just because different terminology was used on a CV.

Weight your search criteria

Not every requirement needs to be essential.

Click on any search term to set how important it is.

Must have
Essential requirement.

Nice to have
Strong preference, but not essential.

Exclude
Removes candidates matching this term.

Using weighting allows eBoss+ to rank candidates more intelligently instead of hiding good options too early.

Exclude criteria

To exclude a word or phrase, add a minus sign before it.

Examples:
-sales
-contract
-CompanyName

You can exclude criteria across employers, job titles, and positions.
