What is a cache: (feel free to skip down to your browser for instructions)

A cache is a small amount of data that is stored in a fast memory location so that it can be accessed quickly. This can be used to improve the performance of a computer system by reducing the need to access slower, more permanent storage. For example, a CPU cache is a small amount of high-speed memory that is used to store recently accessed instructions and data. This can help to improve the performance of the CPU by reducing the number of times it needs to access the slower main memory.

Caches can also be used to improve the performance of web browsers. When you visit a web page, the browser will download the page and its contents to the cache. This means that the next time you visit the page, the browser can load it from the cache, which is much faster than downloading it from the web server.

Caches are a valuable tool for improving the performance of computer systems. They can be used to improve the performance of a wide variety of applications, including web browsers, databases, and operating systems.
